Can you get this service free of charge from the NHS?

This is not something that we can offer for free via the NHS. Several years ago, ear syringing was offered at GP medical practices but this is no longer offered. In some circumstances you can be referred to audiology who may be able to carry out this procedure however the waiting times are lengthy.

If you do not qualify?

This would be the vast majority, in which we can offer this service every week from within the pharmacy. We charge £50 per appointment.

How much does the ear wax removal service cost?

We charge £50 per appointent. This includes a full ear examination followed by ear wax removal in both ears if required.

Ear wax removal method

The choice of treatment is via microsuction. This is the first line treatment choice which is safe, effective and clean.

Other methods

We do in some cases use other tools to help remove ear wax depending on the size, shape and hardness. In rare cases, we can opt to use irrigation (also known as ear syringing).
