Eligibility

This is a private service; therefore there are very few exclusion criteria. There are only certain medications and lesions that would prohibit treatment.

Can you provide treatment for children?

We have been trained by dermatologists through an accredited training course. Our clinicians have been carrying out skin lesion treatments for several years now and have treated hundreds of patients of all ages.

Can I get treatment on the NHS?

In some cases you can, however, if it is only cosmetic then you would not be treated via the NHS. During your consultation, if the clinician suggests that it should be reviewed by the NHS then this will be advised.

Treatment choice

Our treatment method is called cryotherapy (cryosurgery). This is a method that does not require anaesthetic, will likely not leave scarring and is generally very well tolerated. The treatment is a gas that will temporarily freeze the lesion to be treated. The skin will then go through a healing process, usually over several weeks, and the lesion will usually be rejected and the new, lesion free, skin will form.

There are other methods such as cauterising however, this will likely require anaesthetic, will likely leave scarring and will cost more. Another method would be surgical excision but this method would also have similar results and costs.

Who is this service for?

The service is available to all patients. Like all other private services, you will undergo a face-to-face consultation with a pharmacist or nurse to ensure it is clinically appropriate for you to receive treatment. If it is, your pharmacist or nurse will be able to carry out the treatment.
