Eligibility

This year, the categories for those that are offered a free vaccine via the NHS are less than previous years. In short, over 65 years or an at risk group.

Who can get vaccinated for free?

  • Under 18 years old
  • Aged 18 – 64 with an eligible health condition (NHS Grampian will send a letter for appointment)
  • Living with someone who has a weakened immune system
  • An unpaid or young carer
  • A non-frontline health care worker
  • A poultry worker
  • An asylum seeker living in a home office hotel or B&B accommodation
  • Experiencing homelessness or substance misuse
  • Living in a Scottish Prison
  • Living in long stay residential care home or other long stay facility

Millions of people across the country do not qualify for a flu vaccination on the NHS, but we are offering private flu vaccinations.

About the Private Flu Vaccination Service.

Who is this service for?

The service is available to patients aged 6 months and above. Like all other private vaccination services, you will undergo a face-to-face consultation with a pharmacist to ensure it is clinically appropriate for you to receive a flu vaccine. If it is, your pharmacist will be able to administer the vaccine.

Why use this service?

If you do not qualify for a flu jab on the NHS but would like to have a vaccine, you can access private flu vaccination services at the pharmacy and protect yourself against the virus.

When will it be available?

We will begin offering the private flu vaccination service towards the end of September 2024 and will continue to do so throughout the flu season into early 2025.

We offer this private flu vaccination service directly from the pharmacy (Bucksburn Pharmacy & Health Clinic), located on Inverurie Road in Bucksburn, Aberdeen.

How much does it cost?

Price for the flu vaccines is £20. For larger groups/company bookings we are able to offer a discount. Please email with your requirements.
